Obviously the aboriginal photographs showed the people running around in G Strings and the women as barebreasted.
After all, they were part of the 10 or so indiginous tribes of headhunters. But many of the tribal members not only have been christianized but also married foreigners. There was also a strong caste system, and the landed gentry and nobility intermarried one another, and  foreigners, such as the Spaniards and American settlers. They then adopted the attitude of the colonists, and discriminated against the aborigines. However, these are not isolated occurences, as these events are replicated from Australia throughout Melanesia and Polynesia.

The photographs are far from the glamorized Hollywood depiction of the natives, with make-up, and good lighting, and screened and selected actors. However, there has to have been good looking natives, which could have been photographed better.

We must realize these were mug shots.
